Terms of service
1. What Velo is
Velo is a marketplace. We connect people who want something delivered with independent riders who bid to do it. We are not the carrier, and the rider is not our employee.
2. Posting a job
Posting is free and binds you to nothing. You must describe the item truthfully, including weight and fragility. Prohibited items — cash, firearms, controlled substances, live animals — may not be sent, and a rider may decline at pickup.
3. Accepting a bid
Accepting forms a contract between you and that rider at that price. The price is fixed from that moment. Cancel before pickup and nothing is owed; cancel after pickup and the full agreed amount is due.
4. Payment
Pay by card in the app or in cash at handover. If a card fails, the delivery still completes and the balance stays on your account, settleable within 24 hours. We deduct a 12% platform fee from the rider's side only.
5. Loss and damage
Report within 24 hours of delivery with photographs. Verified claims are covered up to ₦50,000 per delivery, or the declared value if lower. Items you declared inaccurately are not covered.
6. Ending your account
You may close it at any time from Settings. We may suspend an account for fraud, threats to riders, or an unpaid balance older than 14 days, and we will tell you which.
